“The exact opposite of Aqua”

In the early 2000s the company that owned the rights to the Amiga computer contracted me to make an icon set for the new OS, and also to work on the look and feel of the “next generation” OS they wanted to build.

At the time the Macintosh “Aqua” look was all the rage and everyone was slavishly copying it, so I wanted to do the opposite, and build bold and chunky instead of a light and liquid.

This design was never used but I feel like at least it fulfilled the brief.
